From Struggle to Strength

Three months ago, Khuda the donkey was found in a weakened state, with visible skin problems. Its body condition was poor, with clear signs of malnutrition; prominent bones, a rough and patchy coat, and areas of hair loss likely linked to a skin disease.

Our team worked closely with the owner to improve the donkey’s care and management. This included providing advisory support on feeding and workload management, introducing supplementary feeding to address weight loss, and administering essential veterinary treatments such as deworming and multivitamin supplementation. Support was also given to manage the skin condition and improve overall hygiene.

With consistent care, gradual but steady improvements were observed. The donkey began to regain weight, and its coat condition started to recover. Areas of hair loss reduced, and the skin showed signs of healing. The animal also became more active and responsive, indicating a return to better health.

Today, the transformation is clear. The donkey is visibly healthier and stronger. This case highlights how targeted intervention, combined with owner engagement and basic veterinary care, can lead to meaningful and lasting improvements in animal welfare.

We sincerely thank our partners, Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) and Animal Aid Abroad (AAA), for their support in making this intervention possible.
